Ciccio Rapone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio De Filippo in the 20th minute of play. Borgetto AFC's Ciccio Rapone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio De Filippo in the 26th minute of play. Ettore Troiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Tarquini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Ettore Troiano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enzo Tarquini having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Fabio De Filippo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciccio Rapone was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When Fabio De Filippo came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the milazzo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio De Filippo couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Adriano Panico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The long shot by Corrado De Vecchis in the 47th minute really tested Ciccio Rapone's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 49th minute, Ettore Troiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio De Filippo made a kick off. milazzo FC's Amerigo Salemme got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Amerigo Salemme off the ground. In the 54th minute, Amerigo Salemme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Caiola kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Dennis Carlucci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enzo Tarquini made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Adriano Panico sent off a good shot on target. After 64 minutes, Alfredo Pollastrini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borgetto AFC and the milazzo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Borgetto AFC's Alfredo Pollastrini got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th play minute Adriano Panico came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Enzo Tarquini. 0-2. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Adriano Panico got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in milazzo FC's zone, Adriano Panico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Tarquini came out of the goal and Adriano Panico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Ettore Troiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borgetto AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ettore Troiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fedele Demaria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ciccio Rapone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Troiano in the 85th minute of play forced milazzo FC's goalkeeper Enzo Tarquini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 86 played minutes Borgetto AFC got a freekick which was hit by Christian Cicchini. After a rather tough play, milazzo FC's Dario Combi got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Enzo Tarquini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Croce in the 95th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Adriano Panico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borgetto AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Panico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enzo Tarquini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
