The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With splendid footwork Claudio Berardini arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-0 by the left pole in the game's 2nd minute. If Christian Lauria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 10 played minutes Cordova FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Marzulli. After 19 played minutes A.C. Pistoiese 1921 got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Lupi. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Alfonso Giannantonio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emiliano Mansueto hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute of the match, Alessandro Rizzo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alfonso Giannantonio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bianco Moschetta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessio Franceschi having to interfere. In the 28th match minute, Cordova FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Di Bartolo to maneuver through the defense. Alessio Franceschi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bianco Moschetta, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Christian Lauria struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Alessio Franceschi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.C. Pistoiese 1921. Alessio Franceschi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Lauria in the 37th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Christian Lauria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alessio Franceschi was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. The supporters of Cordova FC booed when A.C. Pistoiese 1921 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Lauria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Giannantonio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 42nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the match, A.C. Pistoiese 1921's Bianco Moschetta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alessio Franceschi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When A.C. Pistoiese 1921's Christian Lauria in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cordova FC's goalie prevented a goal. Alessandro Rizzo might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfonso Giannantonio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alessandro Rizzo ran back to his position shaking his head. Emiliano Mansueto got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, A.C. Pistoiese 1921's Emiliano Mansueto got a free kick in the 69th minute. Florian Bertini, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Claudio Berardini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cordova FC's Claudio Berardini in 85 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Alfonso Giannantonio guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 90 played minutes A.C. Pistoiese 1921 got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Moriggi. Claudio Berardini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Rizzo in the 94th minute of play forced A.C. Pistoiese 1921's goalkeeper Alfonso Giannantonio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cordova FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while A.C. Pistoiese 1921 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
