An unexpectedly hard shot by Biagio Urbani in the 20th minute of play forced Velocity Phoenix's goalkeeper Aurelio Pierdomenico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Velocity Phoenix's Alfonso Bocchi got a free kick in the 24th minute. Biagio Urbani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Aurelio Scivittaro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aurelio Pierdomenico, passed just outside the right post. Aurelio Pierdomenico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aurelio Scivittaro in the 28th minute of play. Biagio Urbani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Eugenio Anelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Valeriani, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the game, one of Mossa:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Velocity Phoenix a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fortunato Santovito, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mossa's Eugenio Anelli. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Domenico Angelini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Eugenio Anelli made a huge save. After 57 minutes of play Velocity Phoenix's Alfonso Bocchi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Biagio Urbani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Velocity Phoenix's zone, Aurelio Scivittaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Pierdomenico came out of the goal and Aurelio Scivittaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelio Scivittaro struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Aurelio Pierdomenico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mossa. Aurelio Scivittaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Pierdomenico having to interfere. Alvaro Orsi's late challenge caught a Velocity Phoenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvaro Orsi helped the player get up and apologised. Mossa's Eugenio Anelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Mossa from getting a goal against them. Biagio Urbani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Biagio Urbani made a precise shot to the right of Aurelio Pierdomenico. Velocity Phoenix's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The Velocity Phoenix supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Velocity Phoenix would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
