Anfilogino Negrini's late challenge caught a Velocity Phoenix's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anfilogino Negrini helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th minute, Anfilogino Negrini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 9 minutes, Fortunato Santovito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velocity Phoenix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fortunato Santovito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Arese's goalkeeper Amedeo Maurizi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domenico Angelini. Damiano Chiavetta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Aurelio Pierdomenico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amedeo Maurizi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Valeriani, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Velocity Phoenix! In the 27th minute there was a penalty for Arese. Arrigo La Penna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aurelio Pierdomenico. 0-1. Emilio Catena hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Aurelio Pierdomenico didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberigo Facchetti went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Aurelio Pierdomenico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberigo Facchetti in the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Damiano Chiavetta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurelio Pierdomenico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damiano Chiavetta in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Donato Valeriani made the kick off in the second half. Amedeo Maurizi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico Angelini, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Velocity Phoenix's Aurelio Pierdomenico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damiano Chiavetta in the 57th minute of play. When Domenico Angelini came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Velocity Phoenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Angelini couldn't finish the play. Donato Valeriani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amedeo Maurizi having to interfere. When Damiano Chiavetta came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Arese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damiano Chiavetta couldn't finish the play. If Alberigo Facchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelio Pierdomenico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damiano Chiavetta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberigo Facchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute.
