The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Attilio Caporale scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Oberrauch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sessarego AFC's Alberigo Troiano got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute Attilio Silvi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Oberrauch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberigo Troiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Dave Di Giovanni fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arrigo Atroce, passed just outside the right post. Alberto Oberrauch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attilio Silvi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sessarego AFC's zone, Attilio Silvi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Oberrauch came out of the goal and Attilio Silvi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Caporale in the 30th minute of play forced Sessarego AFC's goalkeeper Alberto Oberrauch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Adriano Di Giulio fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villa Opicina's protests and gave Adriano Di Giulio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Villa Opicina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Di Giulio to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute Dave Tosi managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Attilio Silvi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Oberrauch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The Sessarego AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Villa Opicina were winning 0-1.

After 52 played minutes Sessarego AFC got a freekick which was hit by Federico Giannotti. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Attilio Silvi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Attilio Caporale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Di Giovanni in the 62nd minute of play forced Villa Opicina's goalkeeper Arrigo Atroce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Attilio Silvi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Oberrauch was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Arrigo Atroce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Di Giovanni, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Sessarego AFC's Alberigo Troiano got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Attilio Caporale came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Villa Opicina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Attilio Caporale couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Sessarego AFC's Alberto Oberrauch got control of the ball when Attilio Caporale tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Attilio Silvi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Attilio Caporale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Attilio Caporale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Opicina's supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Caporale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Oberrauch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Attilio Caporale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Alberto Oberrauch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villa Opicina's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
