Fulvio Attili's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Alberigo Cipollone skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 13th match minute, Pontenure FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulvio Attili to maneuver through the defense. If Fulvio Attili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Concetto Ascani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferruccio Di Placido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferruccio Di Placido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto Ascani, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Napoli's Alberigo Belardi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ferruccio Di Placido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Concetto Ascani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Fulvio Attili came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Pontenure FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulvio Attili couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute, Fulvio Attili got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Concetto Ascani made the kick off in the second half. Alberigo Belardi struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Ferruccio Di Placido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napoli. Ernesto Romanese sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Ernesto Romanese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberigo Cipollone was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Ferruccio Di Placido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Concetto Ascani went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ernesto Romanese's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberigo Cipollone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Alberigo Cipollone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Cugini in the 72nd minute of the match. Alberigo Cipollone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Romanese, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Alberigo Belardi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ferruccio Di Placido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Napoli walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
