A collision led to Marcellina getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Eugenio Fiori hit a great ball. Demetrio Bellucci made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 14thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Bruno Piccoli would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After 20 minutes of play, Marcellina's Adriano Cirulli made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrea Mercuri was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 25 minutes, Dario Di Fabio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rebbio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dario Di Fabio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Franco Marzo came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Marcellina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Marzo couldn't finish the play. Bruno Piccoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Di Fabio, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 42nd minute Dario Di Fabio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Piccoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Di Fabio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Piccoli having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Franco Marzo to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rebbio FC's zone, Franco Marzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrea Mercuri came out of the goal and Franco Marzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Marcellina's Adriano Cirulli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrea Mercuri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcellina's Bruno Piccoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonello Mara in the 93rd minute of play.
