Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ferdinando Catini started the match with the kick off. Dennis Pallotta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franco Marzo in the 3rd minute of the match. A collision led to Monza AFC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Anthony Prisco hit a great ball. In the 9th minute, Adriano Cirulli fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dennis Pallotta, passed just outside the right post. After 10 played minutes Monza AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Arcari. Dennis Pallotta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Marzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Pallotta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Marzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Alfredo Crema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcellina's Bruno Piccoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Crema in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Franco Marzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfredo Crema received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bruno Piccoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Piccoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinando Catini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Monza AFC's zone, Franco Marzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Pallotta came out of the goal and Franco Marzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the game, Ferdinando Catini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bruno Piccoli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th minute, Ferdinando Catini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monza AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Crema in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Piccoli saved Marcellina from getting behind. After the first half Monza AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Franco Marzo to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcellina's Christian Prato was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dennis Pallotta in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Bruno Piccoli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Crema in the 63rd minute. Adriano Cirulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Dennis Pallotta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franco Marzo struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Dennis Pallotta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marcellina. Dennis Pallotta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Marzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Franco Marzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Crema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the match, Marcellina's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinando Catini came free, but Bruno Piccoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adriano Cirulli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Monza AFC defense, Franco Marzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dennis Pallotta. The Monza AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dennis Pallotta should have stopped the shot. Monza AFC's Dennis Pallotta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Marzo in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marcellina's goalkeeper Bruno Piccoli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 89 minutes, Eugenio Fiori mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marcellina and the Monza AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eugenio Fiori kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, Monza AFC's Carlo Di Giovanni got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bruno Piccoli. Marcellina's Adriano Cirulli got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
