In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nova Milanese's goalkeeper Alex Di Francesco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alex Di Francesco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Càtafório's Alfonso Colombi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alex Di Francesco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The corner led Càtafório's Franco Anelli to fire away a dangerous shot which Alex Di Francesco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Enrico Marconi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ennio Sivieri having to interfere. Enrico Marconi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Nova Milanese getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Armando Taranto hit a great ball. Domenico Tartaglia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ennio Sivieri having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domenico Tartaglia in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ennio Sivieri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 51st minute, Felice Alati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aldo Pace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Alex Di Francesco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Colombi in the 54th minute of the match. Enrico Marconi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Domenico Tartaglia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd minute Enrico Marconi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Sivieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute Domenico Tartaglia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Sivieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nova Milanese's Armando Taranto got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrico Marconi in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ennio Sivieri saved Càtafório from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Càtafório's Edmondo Corsi got a free kick in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Marconi in the 95th minute of play forced Càtafório's goalkeeper Ennio Sivieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Nova Milanese lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
