An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Bardella in the 10th minute of play forced Pino Torinese's goalkeeper Bruno Colella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Armando Bardella put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Colella. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Di Gaetano in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Colella prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bruno Colella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Bardella, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Dave Di Cicco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ennio Caponera got free with Ciccio Carafa in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ennio Caponera might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciccio Carafa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ennio Caponera ran back to his position shaking his head. Dario De Sanctis's late challenge caught a Romitorio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario De Sanctis helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Pino Torinese got a freekick which was hit by Dario De Sanctis. If Armando Bardella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Di Gaetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Colella having to interfere. Ennio Caponera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ciccio Carafa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Dave Di Cicco made the kick off in the second half. Armando Bardella ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th match minute, Romitorio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermanno Biscotti to maneuver through the defense. Pino Torinese's Dave Di Cicco got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armando Bardella might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Colella. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Bardella ran back to his position shaking his head. Ennio Caponera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armando Bardella during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Alberto Di Gaetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Bruno Colella managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Romitorio's Alberto Di Gaetano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Romitorio eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
