After having played for 6 minutes, Amedeo Rainaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gambellara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amedeo Rainaldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano Giolo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Mazzetti went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ferdinando Luciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulvio Ramundo in the 12th minute of play. Piazza Vecchia FC's Ferdinando Luciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amedeo Rainaldi in the 14th minute of play. Francesco Mazzetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Giolo having to interfere. In the 19th minute Amedeo Rainaldi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinando Luciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdinando Luciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Rainaldi in the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Piazza Vecchia FC defense, Amedeo Rainaldi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferdinando Luciano. The Piazza Vecchia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdinando Luciano should have stopped the shot. Alessandro Uguccioni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Adriano Giolo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute of the match, Alessandro Uguccioni tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Adriano Giolo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Piazza Vecchia FC booed when Gambellara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia Grimaldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francesco Mazzetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

57 minutes into the match, Gambellara's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Uguccioni came free, but Adriano Giolo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alessandro Uguccioni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Alessandro Uguccioni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriano Giolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amedeo Rainaldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amedeo Rainaldi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Franco Rucci kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 77 minutes in the game, Francesco Mazzetti dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Davide De Santis fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piazza Vecchia FC's protests and gave Davide De Santis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Piazza Vecchia FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Davide De Santis hit a great ball. Enrico Pasinati, 82 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Fulvio Ramundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ferdinando Luciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alessandro Uguccioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
