Alberigo Albertosi struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Franco Sasso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borghi FC. Eraldo Tartaglia came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabrizio Barchiesi could save by the left post. When Ettore Bruno fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cologno Monzese FC's protests and gave Ettore Bruno a yellow card for diving instead. Ettore Bruno hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When Florian Pasquarelli came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Cologno Monzese FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florian Pasquarelli couldn't finish the play. 22 minutes into the match, Borghi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Pasquarelli came free, but Fabrizio Barchiesi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Cologno Monzese FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Iacovone to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th match minute, Cologno Monzese FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ettore Bruno to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Biagio Di Federico sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franco Sasso skillfully saved the ball. After 35 played minutes Cologno Monzese FC got a freekick which was hit by Florian Pasquarelli. Florian Pasquarelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fabrizio Barchiesi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciccio Clemente's late challenge caught a Cologno Monzese FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciccio Clemente helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 played minutes Borghi FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio Clemente. Florian Pasquarelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabrizio Barchiesi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florian Pasquarelli ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Pasquarelli to strike the kick off in the second half. Cologno Monzese FC's Florian Pasquarelli suffered a torn muscle in his foot after 53 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Corrado Muzi fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borghi FC's protests and gave Corrado Muzi a yellow card for diving instead. 53 minutes into the game, one of Borghi FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fortunato Manfredi shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Alberigo Albertosi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Guerrini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Federico Guerrini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Federico Guerrini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Franco Sasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cologno Monzese FC's Eraldo Tartaglia got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fortunato Marcelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabiano Santucci's late challenge caught a Cologno Monzese FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Santucci helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd match minute, Borghi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabiano Santucci to maneuver through the defense. Fortunato Manfredi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to Borghi FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Daniele Sciarra hit a great ball. Eraldo Tartaglia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Fabrizio Barchiesi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Fortunato Marcelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute Eraldo Tartaglia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrizio Barchiesi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 minutes of play Cologno Monzese FC's Ettore Bruno was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 93 played minutes Cologno Monzese FC got a freekick which was hit by Ettore Bruno. Franco Sasso was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fabiano Santucci. Cologno Monzese FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Federico Guerrini 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. The Borghi FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
