The supporters of Nugola booed when Porrona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Croce didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Porrona's Dario Simeoni got control of the ball when Arturo Balestra tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Damiano Gargano fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Porrona's protests and gave Damiano Gargano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Porrona getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Damiano Gargano hit a great ball. Nugola's Arturo Balestra got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Porrona's Dario Simeoni got control of the ball when Arturo Balestra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arturo Balestra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Simeoni having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Porrona got a freekick which was hit by Achille Losito. Emilio Scutti charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emilio Scutti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emilio Scutti hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
