Emiliano Troilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Gerola, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Sisti in the 7th minute of play forced Pioppa AFC's goalkeeper Ferdinando Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Flavio Gerola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pioppa AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Gerola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arrigo Sisti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ferdinando Antognoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Pioppa AFC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ciccio Arioli hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Alberto Scarinci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emiliano Troilo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Arrigo Sisti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Onzato's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Gerola came free, but Emiliano Troilo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Corrado Sanna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pioppa AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corrado Sanna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pioppa AFC's Alberto Scarinci got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flavio Gerola might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emiliano Troilo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Gerola ran back to his position shaking his head. 48 minutes into the match, Onzato's goalkeeper Emiliano Troilo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Scarinci. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavio Gerola to make the kick off. Emiliano Troilo came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pioppa AFC's Alberto Scarinci. But to his dismay, Alberto Scarinci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Pioppa AFC's Ferdinando Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Sisti in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Pioppa AFC's goalkeeper Ferdinando Antognoni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eraldo De Simone. Arrigo Tonon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pioppa AFC's Ferdinando Antognoni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Pioppa AFC from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pioppa AFC had won after a very even match.
