The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 13 minutes, Ferdinando Tornese managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cornaiano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinando Tornese was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amerigo Testa might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Federico Musacchio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amerigo Testa ran back to his position shaking his head. Diego Sebastiani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domenico Persichetti took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Fava. Fabio Fava dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Cornaiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Domenico Persichetti came free, but Fabio Fava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Amerigo Testa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vicarello's Federico Musacchio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Amerigo Testa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 37 minutes, Edoardo Di Giovanni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vicarello and the Cornaiano FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Edoardo Di Giovanni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amerigo Testa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd match minute, Vicarello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Romanese to maneuver through the defense. Anfilogino Caroli, 45 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augusto Guerriero during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cornaiano FC's Augusto Guerriero got a free kick in the 48th minute. The Cornaiano FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vicarello were winning 0-1.
It was beautiful to see Vicarello's Antonello Granata in action when he in the 49th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domenico Persichetti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Ferdinando Tornese notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Vicarello's Federico Musacchio. Federico Musacchio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 56 minutes into the game, Diego Sebastiani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Fabio Fava was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vicarello's Federico Musacchio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Testa in the 59th minute of play. After 60 minutes, Antonello Granata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vicarello and the Cornaiano FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vicarello's Antonello Granata got a free kick in the 60th minute. Federico Musacchio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Guerriero in the 65th minute of play. Diego Sebastiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Fabio Fava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antonello Granata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Cornaiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Domenico Persichetti came free, but Fabio Fava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriano Lancia's late challenge caught a Vicarello's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adriano Lancia helped the player get up and apologised. 74 minutes into the game, one of Cornaiano FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Diego Romanese shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 80 minutes into the match, Vicarello's Domenico Persichetti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Fava narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 82 played minutes Cornaiano FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Guerriero. Fabio Fava made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Domenico Persichetti sent off a good shot on target. Federico Musacchio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinando Tornese in the 100th minute of the match. The Vicarello supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vicarello would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
