When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Fausto Giammaria put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Corrado Porro. After some careless play in the San Gaggio FC defense, Frank Del Greco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alberigo Bassi. The San Gaggio FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberigo Bassi should have stopped the shot. After 31 played minutes San Gaggio FC got a freekick which was hit by Fortunato Chiarelli. The supporters of Pegli booed when San Gaggio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damiano Contaldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fausto Giammaria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Corrado Porro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Achille Masetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Gaggio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Achille Masetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corrado Porro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Achille Masetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corrado Porro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Giammaria in the 67th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camillo Vierchowod during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
