The Ponte Abbadesse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto Del Vecchio should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Sciarborasca AFC booed when Ponte Abbadesse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Laurenti didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute Sciarborasca AFC were awarded a corner. Ciccio Vittorio went to the cornerflag to take it. Damiano Pardini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Fausto Del Vecchio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Sciarborasca AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ettore Carafa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edoardo Bearzot in the 61st minute of play forced Sciarborasca AFC's goalkeeper Attilio Caretti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Carlo Di Claudio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Ponte Abbadesse getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Emanuele Montanari hit a great ball. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sciarborasca AFC's goalkeeper Attilio Caretti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fausto Del Vecchio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Camillo Perazzolo. 75 minutes into the game, Ettore Carafa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Fausto Del Vecchio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 80 minutes, Edoardo Bearzot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte Abbadesse's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edoardo Bearzot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An obvious chance of a goal. After 88 played minutes Ponte Abbadesse got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Laurenti. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damiano Pardini in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto Del Vecchio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ponte Abbadesse's goalkeeper Fausto Del Vecchio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Sciarborasca AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
