The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 10 minutes, Eraldo Ronconi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mandria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eraldo Ronconi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carmine Buffone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Canzano in the 13th minute of play. Alfonso Castellani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Oriali in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Cusago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrizio Ferraris to maneuver through the defense. Eraldo Ronconi in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alfonso Castellani, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Cusago's Concetto Carrea got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cusago! The referee gave Mandria a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ciccio Campo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cusago's Alfonso Castellani. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfonso Oriali made a kick off. Mandria's Carmine Buffone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Canzano in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Eraldo Ronconi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Alfonso Castellani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eraldo Ronconi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Castellani having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Alvaro Canzano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carmine Buffone was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Ronconi in the 73rd minute of play forced Cusago's goalkeeper Alfonso Castellani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eraldo Ronconi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, Flavio Pellicciotta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mandria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cusago the free kick. In the 84th match minute, Mandria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Pellicciotta to maneuver through the defense. Eraldo Ronconi struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Alfonso Castellani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mandria. Alfonso Castellani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eraldo Ronconi in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute Alvaro Canzano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmine Buffone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Pellicciotta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mandria supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cusago's performance. The match ended with a win for Cusago.
