Concetto Bolli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ettore Guarrera having to interfere. The supporters of Rapallo booed when Fizzonasco AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlo Burgnich didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Fortunato Fiori's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ettore Guarrera was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Rapallo's Andrea Sciarretta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Valeri in the 26th minute of play. Enzo Di Carlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Andrea Sciarretta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored Rapallo's protests and gave Aurelio Marinelli a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rapallo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Aurelio Marinelli hit a great ball. Enzo Di Carlo might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrea Sciarretta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enzo Di Carlo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute, Ermanno Valeri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fizzonasco AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Fizzonasco AFC booed when Rapallo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Marinelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fortunato Fiori stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Davide Ascoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapallo's supporters rose to their feet, but Davide Ascoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ettore Guarrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Fizzonasco AFC's Carmine Genovese got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute Fortunato Fiori shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Guarrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 played minutes Rapallo got a freekick which was hit by Ciccio De Tommasi. Enzo Di Carlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Andrea Sciarretta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ettore Guarrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Fiori, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Rapallo's Fortunato Fiori sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ettore Guarrera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Fortunato Fiori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rapallo's Fortunato Fiori got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fizzonasco AFC's Ettore Guarrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davide Ascoli in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Fizzonasco AFC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Rapallo side.
