The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Croce Valanidi AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe Addari came free, but Dave Di Florio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fortunato Piano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dennis Furino during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, Dennis Furino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edoardo Macchia made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Fortunato Piano sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute, Fortunato Di Gregorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beppe Addari in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dave Di Florio saved Croce Valanidi AFC from getting behind. Fortunato Di Gregorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Di Florio having to interfere. Edoardo Macchia made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Fortunato Piano sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 26 minutes, Biagio Barducci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argate Brianza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Biagio Barducci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fortunato Di Gregorio in the 27th minute of play forced Croce Valanidi AFC's goalkeeper Dave Di Florio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Argate Brianza's Dennis Furino got a free kick in the 29th minute. Fortunato Di Gregorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th match minute, Croce Valanidi AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Camerlengo to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Fortunato Di Gregorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fortunato Di Gregorio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Beppe Addari came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Argate Brianza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Addari couldn't finish the play. Edoardo Macchia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fortunato Piano in the 44th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beppe Addari made a kick off. Edoardo Macchia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ercole Di Michele, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Ercole Di Michele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Croce Valanidi AFC's Ercole Di Michele nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edoardo Macchia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 65th minute, Ercole Di Michele made a precise shot to the right of Edoardo Macchia. Argate Brianza's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With a little luck, Croce Valanidi AFC's Dave Di Florio got control of the ball when Fortunato Di Gregorio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Fortunato Di Gregorio could shoot a difficult shot in the 73rd minute, which Dave Di Florio however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberigo Camerlengo during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Ferdinando Corvi fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croce Valanidi AFC's protests and gave Ferdinando Corvi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Argate Brianza booed when Croce Valanidi AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Corvi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Di Florio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Beppe Addari showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 80 minute of play. A collision led to Croce Valanidi AFC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ferdinando Corvi hit a great ball. With a little luck, Croce Valanidi AFC's Dave Di Florio got control of the ball when Fortunato Di Gregorio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Beppe Addari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Dave Di Florio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Argate Brianza's Fortunato Di Gregorio got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Beppe Addari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
