The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Corrado Bearzot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Viani AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lido Adriano AFC the free kick. If Fulvio Ferraresi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Villa Viani AFC's Amerigo Sforza in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lido Adriano AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Lido Adriano AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
