Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Rovigo's Alex Carafa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Diego Rosato successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After having played for 6 minutes, Ermanno Oberrauch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ermanno Oberrauch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ermanno Oberrauch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ciccio Dionisi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Amerigo Di Federico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anfilogino Bracco in the 14th minute of play forced Rovigo's goalkeeper Ciccio Dionisi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciccio Dionisi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anfilogino Bracco in the 16th minute of play. In the 21st minute Alex Carafa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Rosato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ermanno Oberrauch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rovigo getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Amerigo Di Federico hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes Rovigo got a freekick which was hit by Damiano Vierchowod. Federico Brunetta, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Amerigo Mameli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Diego Rosato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Alex Carafa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rovigo's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Carafa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Rosato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anfilogino Bracco made a kick off. Ciccio Dionisi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermanno Oberrauch in the 53rd minute. With his leg Ciccio Dionisi managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Villa's Achille Liaci fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 64thth minute of the game Anfilogino Bracco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rovigo's Ciccio Dionisi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Alex Carafa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florian Fini kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Carafa in the 79th minute of play forced Villa's goalkeeper Diego Rosato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anfilogino Bracco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciccio Dionisi having to interfere. If Ermanno Oberrauch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Villa booed when Rovigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amerigo Di Federico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Ermanno Oberrauch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Villa's Ciccio Dionisi threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anfilogino Bracco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rovigo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Villa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
