The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Albignasego's Enzo Pomponio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cosimo Di Gregorio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 7 played minutes Basaldella got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Montaldi. 8 minutes into the match, Albignasego's Cristoforo Cilli broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 9 minutes into the game, one of Basaldella:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Albignasego a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristoforo Cilli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Basaldella's Cosimo Di Gregorio. 1-0. When Basaldella's Cesare Ciaccia in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Albignasego's goalie prevented a goal. Basaldella's Arturo Borrelli got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arturo Borrelli in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domenico Baresi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Enzo Pomponio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enzo Pomponio got free with Cosimo Di Gregorio in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Augusto Verna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesare Ciaccia scored 1-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Domenico Baresi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 43 minutes into the game, Davide Contaldi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Albignasego's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Basaldella the free kick. Davide Contaldi kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 46th minute Basaldella were awarded a corner. Enrico Colangelo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Basaldella's Enrico Colangelo to fire away a dangerous shot which Domenico Baresi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Verna made a kick off. Cosimo Di Gregorio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Pomponio, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Cosimo Di Gregorio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Pomponio in the 55th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Enrico Colangelo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Albignasego's Domenico Baresi didn't even have to move. In the 76th minute, Arturo Borrelli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Basaldella's goalkeeper Cosimo Di Gregorio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Domenico Baresi managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Basaldella's Arturo Borrelli fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Domenico Baresi made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Arturo Borrelli sent off a good shot on target.
