Eugenio Laurenti might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domenico Baresi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Laurenti ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Verna in the 7th minute of play forced Casabianca's goalkeeper Alberigo Vieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Casabianca's zone, Augusto Verna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberigo Vieri came out of the goal and Augusto Verna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Albignasego booed when Casabianca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franco Savoia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristoforo Cilli, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The attack was good, but when Enzo Pomponio in the 18th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some careless play in the Casabianca defense, Augusto Verna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alberigo Vieri. The Casabianca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberigo Vieri should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute, Casabianca's Demetrio Vinci ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Domenico Baresi. Domenico Baresi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Enzo Pomponio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberigo Vieri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Verna in the 43rd minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Demetrio Vinci made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Casabianca's Demetrio Vinci nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Domenico Baresi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The supporters of Albignasego booed when Casabianca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Colucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Albignasego's Augusto Verna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberigo Vieri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Demetrio Vinci got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugenio Laurenti in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domenico Baresi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Eugenio Laurenti came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Casabianca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenio Laurenti couldn't finish the play. After having played for 71 minutes, Augusto Verna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albignasego's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Verna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Pomponio in the 73rd minute of play forced Casabianca's goalkeeper Alberigo Vieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Demetrio Vinci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Eugenio Laurenti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberigo Vieri made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Enzo Pomponio sent off a good shot on target. Claudio Colucci's late challenge caught a Albignasego's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudio Colucci helped the player get up and apologised. Claudio Colucci kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Enzo Pomponio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Augusto Verna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casabianca's Alberigo Vieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Verna in the 90th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Albignasego failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
