But to his dismay, Davide Righi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Eraldo Demaria charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eraldo Demaria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Eraldo Demaria hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Mandara in the 36th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Bruno Balboni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Bruno Riccardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Riccardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Cagnetta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Santalucia kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Riccardi in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cosimo Cagnetta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Amerigo Mandara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ettore Caccia was the one to do the kick off. In the 74thth minute of the game Amerigo Mandara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palermo's Bruno Balboni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Amerigo Mandara came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Tribola FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amerigo Mandara couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Tribola FC booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Demaria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Balboni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amerigo Mandara, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Davide Righi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Bruno Balboni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amerigo Mandara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
