Andrea Ferretti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Claudio Scurti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrea Ferretti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After having played for 13 minutes, Claudio Scurti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montorfano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Scurti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lunghezza's Andrea Ferretti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Zisser in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudio Scurti in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrea Ferretti saved Lunghezza from getting behind. Claudio Scurti scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrea Ferretti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Biagio Margonis short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Cosimo Sorge to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Dave Zisser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrea Ferretti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Scurti, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Dave Zisser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Ferretti having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Montorfano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Pio came free, but Cosimo Sorge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudio Scurti was the one to do the kick off. Biagio Margoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Cosimo Sorge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosimo Sorge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Abbagnale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Claudio Scurti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudio Scurti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Montorfano FC's Claudio Scurti got a free kick in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Egger in the 69th minute of play forced Lunghezza's goalkeeper Andrea Ferretti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Fabrizio Di Fabio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lunghezza and the Montorfano FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st match minute, Lunghezza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabrizio Di Fabio to maneuver through the defense. Lunghezza's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Claudio Scurti scored to the left of an out of position Andrea Ferretti, making the score, 0-3.
