Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oberá the free kick. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yao Peng in the 9th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Damián Martínez, 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Cresencio in the 21st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yao Peng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Yao Peng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damián Martínez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Victorio Rami hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Damián Martínez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Damián Martínez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 87th minute of the match. When Oberá's Alberto Cresencio in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Domingos Tristan struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oberá. Oberá's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
