Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Camillo Antonioni in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Mercuri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 7th minute, Ernesto Chiola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Novellara FC's Felice Rozzi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bernardo Grilli. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Bernardo Grilli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Rozzi in the 11th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Felice Maranzano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Novellara FC and the Latina Scalo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felice Maranzano hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Camillo Antonioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Bruno Marchetti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Mercuri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 18 played minutes Novellara FC got a freekick which was hit by Felice Maranzano. Felice Rozzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Felice Rozzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Grilli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Rozzi in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Latina Scalo FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felice Maranzano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Amerigo Gigli fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Latina Scalo FC's protests and gave Amerigo Gigli a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd match minute, Latina Scalo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amerigo Gigli to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Camillo Antonioni made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Mercuri. Novellara FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Camillo Antonioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruno Marchetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Mercuri having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dino Savoia to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Latina Scalo FC's Bruno Marchetti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Mercuri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 60 minutes into the match, Camillo Antonioni dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfredo Mercuri, 1-4. Alfredo Mercuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camillo Antonioni in the 64th minute of play. When Ermanno Falcone fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Novellara FC's protests and gave Ermanno Falcone a yellow card for diving instead. Novellara FC's Dino Savoia got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Biagio Amadei during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Novellara FC's Biagio Amadei got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The supporters of Latina Scalo FC booed when Novellara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Amadei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Mercuri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camillo Antonioni, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Camillo Antonioni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Mercuri having to interfere. Camillo Antonioni was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 89 minutes into the match, Novellara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Antonioni came free, but Alfredo Mercuri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Latina Scalo FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
