In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brondolo's goalkeeper Eugenio Alfieri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 46th minute of the match Armin Corvasce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eugenio Castellini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Biagio Florio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugenio Alfieri having to make a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Davide Improta to make the kick off.
