Cristiano Catena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ercole Cugini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Sciascia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Frank Mingione made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Ercole Di Giambattista kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Mingione. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Traversara's Ercole Di Giambattista got a free kick in the 14th minute. Frank Mingione showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Sciascia in the 16th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes Fregene AFC got a freekick which was hit by Felice Fiordelisi. Frank Mingione showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ercole Di Giambattista in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Di Giambattista in the 21st minute of play forced Fregene AFC's goalkeeper Frank Mingione to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fregene AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ernesto Piccini was slow to take the kick. During this time Traversara's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Traversara's corner Ernesto Piccini fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frank Mingione quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fregene AFC's zone, Alvaro Sciascia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Mingione came out of the goal and Alvaro Sciascia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the game, Biagio Topatigh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Traversara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fregene AFC the free kick. After 27 played minutes Traversara got a freekick which was hit by Biagio Topatigh. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Enrico Alfieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fregene AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrico Alfieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ercole Cugini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Biagio Topatigh was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. In the 30th match minute, Traversara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Topatigh to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Enrico Alfieri made a precise shot to the right of Ercole Cugini. Traversara's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Cristiano Catena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ercole Cugini having to interfere. Ercole Cugini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Catena in the 42nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Traversara defense, Cristiano Catena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ercole Cugini. The Traversara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ercole Cugini should have stopped the shot. The Traversara players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fregene AFC were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alvaro Sciascia was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match, Cristiano Catena got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ercole Cugini was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Enrico Alfieri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Traversara's Amos Sisti got a free kick in the 60th minute. Amos Sisti kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Alvaro Sciascia struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Frank Mingione didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Traversara. Frank Mingione didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ercole Di Giambattista went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Ercole Cugini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrico Alfieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 79 played minutes Fregene AFC got a freekick which was hit by Comunardo Ferreri. Fregene AFC's Bruno Maiorano got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fregene AFC's Cristiano Catena got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrico Alfieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Traversara's Fausto Paoletti got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Enrico Alfieri came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Fregene AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrico Alfieri couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Fregene AFC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
