A collision led to Firenze getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Anfilogino Guidone hit a great ball. If Adriano Giardini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Salerno kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Firenze's goalkeeper Fabrizio Tabacchi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Di Clemente. When Alexander Di Clemente fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taneto's protests and gave Alexander Di Clemente a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Taneto's Alexander Di Clemente got a free kick in the 14th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Beppe Battista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taneto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beppe Battista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francesco Petrini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Giardini in the 18th minute of play. Fabrizio Tabacchi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Beppe Battista's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After 23 played minutes Beppe Battista rounded Firenze's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Francesco Petrini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Daniele in the 28th minute of play. Francesco Petrini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donato Daniele went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Beppe Battista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Tabacchi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Di Clemente in the 38th minute. Francesco Petrini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Giardini in the 44th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beppe Battista made a kick off. If Alexander Di Clemente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taneto's Francesco Petrini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Giardini in the 59th minute of play. Donato Daniele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Petrini having to interfere. Taneto's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Adriano Giardini 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. In the 68th minute, Amedeo Alfonsi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Adriano Giardini reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Francesco Petrini. The goal made the score 2-3. 74 minutes into the match, Taneto's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Giardini came free, but Francesco Petrini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Adriano Giardini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Felice Di Muzio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Beppe Battista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrizio Tabacchi was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Firenze fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! Anthony Gazza shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Beppe Battista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Fabrizio Tabacchi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beppe Battista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Firenze's Adriano Giardini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francesco Petrini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Firenze had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
