The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the game, Anthony Coscarella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ettore Pittelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 16 minutes, Anthony Coscarella made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Villaricca's Ettore Pittelli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Carmine Mei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesare Colella in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Nanni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Anthony Coscarella put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ettore Pittelli. In the 31st minute Carmine Mei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Nanni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Villaricca's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Colantonio came free, but Ettore Pittelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Coscarella in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ettore Pittelli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cesare Colella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villaricca's Ettore Pittelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Colantonio in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Carmine Mei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Nanni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Fino during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes Case Nuovo got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Fino. If Cesare Colella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Cesare Colella made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Cosimo Ruscitti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes into the match, Villaricca's Cesare Colella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristiano Nanni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristiano Nanni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Colella in the 59th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carmine Mei got free with Cristiano Nanni in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the match, Case Nuovo's goalkeeper Cristiano Nanni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carmine Mei. Carmine Mei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Nanni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cesare Colella's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Nanni was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Dino Colantonio struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Ettore Pittelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Case Nuovo. Ettore Pittelli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Colantonio's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Case Nuovo's Dino Colantonio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ettore Pittelli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Villaricca's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Coscarella came free, but Ettore Pittelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Coscarella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ettore Pittelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Carmine Mei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cesare Colella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Nanni having to interfere.
