Ermanno Lizzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Cirone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 4 minutes, Corrado Checchia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quiliano and the Tiorre FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Corrado Checchia kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Achille Cala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bruno Cirone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 15th minute of the match Corrado Checchia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Corrado Checchia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bruno Cirone received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ermanno Lizzi came out and tried to block the shot, but Bruno Cirone slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute Bruno Cirone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermanno Lizzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Christian Marchetti made a precise shot to the right of Ettore Ali. Tiorre FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Dino Pozzoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Quiliano's zone, Dino Pozzoli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermanno Lizzi came out of the goal and Dino Pozzoli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Dino Santacroce ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ettore Ali was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 40 minutes into the match, Tiorre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Marchetti came free, but Ettore Ali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Christian Marchetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ettore Ali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Pozzoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ermanno Lizzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bruno Cirone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Christian Marchetti made the kick off in the second half. Ermanno Lizzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Cirone in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Christian Marchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quiliano's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Marchetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ettore Ali breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Dino Santacroce came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Quiliano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Santacroce couldn't finish the play. Christian Marchetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ettore Ali having to interfere. Bruno Cirone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Lizzi having to interfere. Ermanno Lizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Cirone, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 73rd minute Bruno Cirone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermanno Lizzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Bruno Cirone sped through Quiliano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ermanno Lizzi. Ermanno Lizzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dino Pozzoli in the 86th minute of play. Christian Marchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
