Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alvaro Pompilio started the match with the kick off. When Posillipo's Eugenio Vierchowod in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Alvaro Pompilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Villa Cheloni's Cesare Cruciani got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Concetto Forte kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th match minute, Villa Cheloni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Tozzi to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 39 minutes, Flavio Di Fabio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Posillipo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Di Fabio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Posillipo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Lemma to maneuver through the defense. Armin Del Nero was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eugenio Vierchowod made a kick off. Francesco Palomba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Di Fabio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesare Cruciani got free with Alvise Ucci in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eugenio Vierchowod sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Flavio Di Fabio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Francesco Palomba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Vierchowod in the 63rd minute of the match. Cesare Cruciani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Alvise Ucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Posillipo's zone, Cesare Cruciani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvise Ucci came out of the goal and Cesare Cruciani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute Eugenio Vierchowod shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Palomba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francesco Palomba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Di Fabio, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cesare Cruciani got free with Alvise Ucci in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The nice shot from Cesare Cruciani in the 77thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Alvise Ucci had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Cesare Cruciani might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvise Ucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesare Cruciani ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabrizio Macchia charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrizio Macchia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Posillipo! After having played for 87 minutes, Alvaro Pompilio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa Cheloni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Pompilio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Eugenio Vierchowod sped through Villa Cheloni's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Francesco Palomba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Di Fabio in the 97th minute of play forced Villa Cheloni's goalkeeper Francesco Palomba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Villa Cheloni walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
