Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Frank Barresi made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gaibana FC's goalkeeper Augusto Bearzot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudio Nicolo during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Claudio Nicolo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Claudio Nicolo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Anselmo De Tommasi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Claudio Nicolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anselmo De Tommasi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Nicolo in the 17th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Marcellise FC's Alberigo Zulli got a free kick in the 17th minute. Anselmo De Tommasi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Barresi's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Barresi in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anselmo De Tommasi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute, Frank Barresi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank Barresi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute Claudio Nicolo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo De Tommasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Ciro Menichini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augusto Bearzot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Berardinelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 45 minutes, Bruno Porta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marcellise FC and the Gaibana FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Marcellise FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Porta. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlo Berardinelli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudio Nicolo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberigo Zulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Augusto Bearzot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabiano Cavallucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Cavallucci in the 65th minute of play forced Gaibana FC's goalkeeper Augusto Bearzot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo De Tommasi was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Frank Barresi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frank Barresi really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Gaibana FC's Frank Barresi got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Barresi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo De Tommasi having to interfere. Claudio Nicolo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Porta hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Frank Barresi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 84th minute, Claudio Nicolo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gaibana FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Claudio Nicolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcellise FC's Fabiano Cavallucci got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 played minutes Gaibana FC got a freekick which was hit by Achille Albertini. The corner ended in Fedele Iacovacci almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gaibana FC's Augusto Bearzot did a great save.
