Calabrina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino Clementi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Antonio Valcareggi kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Dino Clementi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Ruggieri having to interfere. Fabrizio Ruggieri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Del Pizzo in the 13th minute of the match. Angelo Del Pizzo scored 1-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrizio Ruggieri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Armin Briganti was a little too slow when Alberto De Bartolo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Alberto De Bartolo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calabrina's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto De Bartolo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armin Briganti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the game, Antonio Valcareggi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sestri Ponente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calabrina the free kick. A collision led to Sestri Ponente getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Antonio Valcareggi hit a great ball. Fabrizio Ruggieri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Clementi's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Calabrina's zone, Angelo Del Pizzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabrizio Ruggieri came out of the goal and Angelo Del Pizzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dino Clementi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Fabrizio Ruggieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Del Pizzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Franco Signoretti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armin Briganti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Signoretti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabrizio Ruggieri made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Dino Clementi sent off a good shot on target. Franco Signoretti might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armin Briganti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franco Signoretti ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabrizio Ruggieri made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Dino Clementi sent off a good shot on target. Dino Clementi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Ruggieri having to interfere. Angelo Del Pizzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Sestri Ponente booed when Calabrina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Bosso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Signoretti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armin Briganti having to interfere. Antonio Valcareggi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Sestri Ponente were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
