The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Bertinoro AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Orioli came free, but Flavio Onori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Onori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arrigo Orioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Disastro kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. If Anselmo Maccarone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arturo Genovese's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrico De Vincentis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Arturo Genovese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Enrico De Vincentis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Amedeo Antonioni notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Comeana FC's Enrico De Vincentis. Enrico De Vincentis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arrigo Orioli in the 28th minute of play forced Bertinoro AFC's goalkeeper Flavio Onori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Comeana FC's Enrico De Vincentis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amedeo Antonioni in the 34th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Cristiano Disastro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bertinoro AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Comeana FC the free kick. Cristiano Disastro kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A collision led to Bertinoro AFC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Alfonso Ruggieri hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Amedeo Antonioni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico De Vincentis having to interfere. Amedeo Antonioni might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrico De Vincentis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amedeo Antonioni ran back to his position shaking his head. Enrico De Vincentis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Antonioni in the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Comeana FC's zone, Amedeo Antonioni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrico De Vincentis came out of the goal and Amedeo Antonioni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74thth minute of the game Anselmo Maccarone who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bertinoro AFC's Flavio Onori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Davide Basso kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Eraldo Imperatore shot from long distance in the 81st minute, but Enrico De Vincentis was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Enrico De Vincentis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Antonioni in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Maccarone in the 84th minute of play forced Bertinoro AFC's goalkeeper Flavio Onori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Bertinoro AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bertinoro AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
