The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aldo Punta during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Scacciano got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Punta. Carlo Di Gaetano scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ennio Giolo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Arasì AFC's Andrea Basso got a free kick in the 11th minute. Ennio Giolo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 12th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Augusto Checchia. After 16 minutes, Biagio Trombetta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arasì AFC and the Scacciano players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Arasì AFC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Biagio Trombetta hit a great ball. Alberigo Mazzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Martinelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Antonio Righi hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Arasì AFC's zone, Augusto Checchia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ennio Giolo came out of the goal and Augusto Checchia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, Arasì AFC's Biagio Trombetta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alberigo Mazzola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciccio Martinelli in the 31st minute of play forced Scacciano's goalkeeper Alberigo Mazzola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Arasì AFC's Andrea Basso got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Emilio Coviello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Biagio Trombetta to make the kick off.
