Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Lizzi to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achille Grieco in the 53rd minute of play forced Baura FC's goalkeeper Fulvio Carulli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute, Domenico Rigoni had to leave the field with a concussion. Fortunato Luciani's late challenge caught a Puglia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fortunato Luciani helped the player get up and apologised. Amos Sanna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Maccioni, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Cara during the 92nd minute. In the 98th match minute, Puglia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Achille Grieco to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Puglia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
