Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eraldo Di Muzio started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Eugenio La Marca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domenico Fulgenzi got free with Andrea Milani in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernesto Rosato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Fasciani having to interfere. Armin Bernardi hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Emanuele Carrea might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrea Milani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuele Carrea ran back to his position shaking his head. Eraldo Di Muzio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 22 played minutes Ruata Chiusani got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Capaldo. After 25 played minutes Ruata Chiusani got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Capaldo. Eraldo Fasciani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armin Bernardi in the 26th minute of the match. Ermanno Fulgenzi hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 35 played minutes Catona got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Fulgenzi. Ernesto Rosato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferruccio Gaudino made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Ferruccio Gaudino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferruccio Gaudino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eraldo Fasciani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferruccio Gaudino in the 66th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Ferruccio Gaudino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ferruccio Gaudino in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eraldo Fasciani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eraldo Fasciani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferruccio Gaudino in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Fulgenzi in the 84th minute of play forced Catona's goalkeeper Andrea Milani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Domenico Fulgenzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Domenico Fulgenzi came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Ruata Chiusani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Fulgenzi couldn't finish the play. Eraldo Fasciani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferruccio Gaudino, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Catona's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
