The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aldo Bianchini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Amos Boldrini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniele Di Dio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eraldo Carbonaro in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Sarzano's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Tellini came free, but Aldo Bianchini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Concetto Bonfigli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniele Di Dio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Bonfigli in the 25th minute of play forced Cassanigo's goalkeeper Daniele Di Dio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldo Bianchini made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Emanuele Ritacco sent off a good shot on target. Amos Boldrini kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Emanuele Ritacco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Bianchini having to interfere. Amos Boldrini struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Daniele Di Dio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarzano. Aldo Bianchini was a little too slow when Concetto Tellini got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amos Boldrini to strike the kick off in the second half. Amos Boldrini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Daniele Di Dio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cassanigo's zone, Concetto Bonfigli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniele Di Dio came out of the goal and Concetto Bonfigli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Amos Boldrini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniele Di Dio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Concetto Bonfigli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Daniele Di Dio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 73 minutes, Cesare Palmieri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cassanigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesare Palmieri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the game, Filippo Barbato cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Daniele Di Dio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amos Boldrini in the 86th minute of play forced Cassanigo's goalkeeper Daniele Di Dio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniele Di Dio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Concetto Bonfigli in the 88th minute. When Daniele Moscatelli came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Cassanigo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniele Moscatelli couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
