With a little luck, Buonviaggio's Christian Nasuti got control of the ball when Bernardo Chiarelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fausto Mameli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fortunato Salvagnin in the 23rd minute of play. After 26 minutes, Bernardo Chiarelli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sasso Marconi and the Buonviaggio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Sasso Marconi defense, Fortunato Salvagnin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fausto Mameli. The Sasso Marconi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fausto Mameli should have stopped the shot. Bernardo Chiarelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Christian Nasuti made a huge save. After 35 played minutes Sasso Marconi got a freekick which was hit by Amos Marzoli. Amos Marzoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Nasuti having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fortunato Salvagnin to make the kick off. Sasso Marconi's Attilio Iannucci got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christian Nasuti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Chiarelli in the 57th minute of the match. Fortunato Salvagnin succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. In the 79th minute, Buonviaggio's Fortunato Salvagnin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. If Attilio Iannucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th match minute, Sasso Marconi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Canuto to maneuver through the defense. The Buonviaggio supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Buonviaggio would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
