The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Cesare Albertini came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Gassino Torinese FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesare Albertini couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the game, Concetto Prandini was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Verghera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gassino Torinese FC the free kick. Concetto Prandini hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Donato Galli was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cesare Albertini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 16 minutes, Cesare Albertini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gassino Torinese FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesare Albertini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesare Albertini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Luciani having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Arrigo Scivittaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andrea Luciani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesare Albertini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrea Luciani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesare Albertini in the 26th minute of play. When Bernardo Barchiesi came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Verghera fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Barchiesi couldn't finish the play. After 34 minutes, Bernardo Barchiesi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verghera and the Gassino Torinese FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Bernardo Barchiesi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gassino Torinese FC's Cesare Albertini got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesare Albertini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Andrea Luciani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fulvio Spada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulvio Spada couldn't finish the play. If Fulvio Spada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Andrea Luciani yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Gassino Torinese FC's Fabrizio Iacovacci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulvio Spada in the 64th minute of play. If Cesare Albertini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabrizio Iacovacci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Barchiesi in the 70th minute of the match. Fabrizio Iacovacci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulvio Spada in the 74th minute of play. Fulvio Spada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrizio Iacovacci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Fabrizio Iacovacci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Barchiesi, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Verghera's Andrea Luciani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesare Albertini in the 81st minute of play. Achille Juliano struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Fabrizio Iacovacci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verghera. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulvio Spada in the 88th minute of play forced Gassino Torinese FC's goalkeeper Fabrizio Iacovacci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrea Luciani came out and tried to block the shot, but Cesare Albertini slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 96th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gassino Torinese FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
