Ermanno Lauri might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domenico Camerlengo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermanno Lauri ran back to his position shaking his head. Domenico Camerlengo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fedele Serafini, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ermanno Lauri got free with Domenico Camerlengo in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Civitavecchia's zone, Ermanno Lauri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Camerlengo came out of the goal and Ermanno Lauri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelio Sangermano charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelio Sangermano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Basiglio's Aurelio Sangermano got a free kick in the 19th minute. The supporters of Basiglio booed when Civitavecchia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia De Nicola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Bernardo La Marca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Andreola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Biagio Grifoni during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Basiglio's Emilio Andreola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo La Marca in the 52nd minute of play. Domenico Camerlengo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermanno Lauri in the 56th minute of the match.
