After 23 played minutes Villaricca FC got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Berti. Cosimo Fortuna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Di Placido in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Solarolo's Cristoforo Taddeo got a free kick in the 30th minute. If Antonello Di Placido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Antonello Di Placido managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaricca FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonello Di Placido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Fortuna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edoardo Nardi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Cosimo Fortuna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edoardo Nardi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Villaricca FC's Antonello Di Placido got a free kick in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Edoardo Nardi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Fortuna having to interfere. The supporters of Solarolo booed when Villaricca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eraldo Berti didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Solarolo's Christian Masciarelli tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edoardo Nardi in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cosimo Fortuna saved Solarolo from getting behind. Antonello Di Placido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Fortuna having to interfere. If Cristoforo Taddeo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amedeo Catapano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Pasquarelli in the 75th minute. Emiliano Tabacco charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiliano Tabacco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Villaricca FC! Antonello Di Placido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosimo Fortuna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edoardo Nardi in the 95th minute of the match.
