When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Alvise Schiacciacasse sped through Tiorre's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amerigo Fabrizi. A collision led to Santa Nicola getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ermanno Circelli hit a great ball. Anselmo Colecchia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Tarquini having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Amatori in the 32nd minute of play forced Santa Nicola's goalkeeper Emilio Tarquini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amerigo Fabrizi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvise Schiacciacasse's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The supporters of Santa Nicola booed when Tiorre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Tocci didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Anselmo Colecchia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tiorre's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Colecchia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Tarquini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edoardo Buccella during the 40th minute. Anselmo Colecchia hit a great ball. Santa Nicola's Alvise Schiacciacasse got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Nicola's zone, Anselmo Colecchia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilio Tarquini came out of the goal and Anselmo Colecchia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 48 minutes, Emilio Tarquini successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Amatori made a kick off. Ercole Marcucci, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alessio Benvenuto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amerigo Fabrizi having to interfere. If Anselmo Colecchia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Colecchia in the 70th minute of play forced Santa Nicola's goalkeeper Emilio Tarquini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
