Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Montecchio's Ciro Damiani started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes of play, Montecchio's Ciro Damiani made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emiliano Rosi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ennio De Laurentiis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montecchio's Elia De Filippo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Montecchio from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Montecchio's Edmondo Marchetti got a free kick in the 17th minute. Montecchio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Ercole Addari scored to the left of an out of position Elia De Filippo, making the score, 1-1. Ercole Addari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia De Filippo having to interfere. Ciro Damiani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ennio De Laurentiis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano Santalucia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emiliano Rosi having to interfere. Ercole Addari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Elia De Filippo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Concetto Petrella kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ercole Addari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gerbi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ercole Addari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elia De Filippo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Montecchio getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Edmondo Vida hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ennio De Laurentiis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ennio De Laurentiis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia De Filippo having to interfere. If Adriano Santalucia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio De Laurentiis in the 70th minute of play forced Montecchio's goalkeeper Elia De Filippo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ercole Addari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Elia De Filippo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ennio De Laurentiis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Ercole Addari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Elia De Filippo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adriano Santalucia got free with Emiliano Rosi in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Edmondo Vida came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Montecchio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmondo Vida couldn't finish the play. Elia De Filippo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ercole Addari in the 95th minute of the match. With a little luck, Gerbi's Emiliano Rosi got control of the ball when Adriano Santalucia tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gerbi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Montecchio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
