Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ciro Damiani got the match started through his kick off. Beppe Giardino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia De Filippo having to interfere. If Adriano Santalucia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edoardo Colella fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montecchio's protests and gave Edoardo Colella a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Beppe Giardino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mezzeno fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Adriano Santalucia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ciro Damianis short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Alvaro Di Nucci to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cristoforo Prandini's late challenge caught a Mezzeno's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristoforo Prandini helped the player get up and apologised. Alvaro Di Nucci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciro Damiani's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Ciro Damiani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mezzeno's Alvaro Di Nucci was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ciro Larizza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia De Filippo having to interfere. Ciro Larizza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Elia De Filippo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Montecchio's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Larizza came free, but Elia De Filippo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Concetto Petrella charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Concetto Petrella the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Montecchio's Concetto Petrella got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Mezzeno's Ciro Larizza in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montecchio's goalie prevented a goal. Beppe Giardino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Elia De Filippo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Di Nucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Damiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beppe Giardino to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniele Domenghini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mezzeno's Beppe Giardino got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Montecchio's Edmondo Marchetti got a free kick in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Montecchio's zone, Beppe Giardino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elia De Filippo came out of the goal and Beppe Giardino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alvaro Di Nucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Damiani in the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Montecchio's zone, Beppe Giardino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elia De Filippo came out of the goal and Beppe Giardino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elia De Filippo made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ciro Larizza sent off a good shot on target. Beppe Giardino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Elia De Filippo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adriano Santalucia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Adriano Santalucia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Adriano Santalucia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Mezzeno's Alvaro Di Nucci. Alvaro Di Nucci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Montecchio's Adriano Santalucia got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fulvio Fantasia during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Mezzeno got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Fantasia. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Santalucia in the 97th minute of play forced Mezzeno's goalkeeper Alvaro Di Nucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
