Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alfredo Quercia kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Ammonite's Alfredo Quercia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Melis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Franco Melis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Quercia in the 5th minute of play. Beppe Napoleone struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Elia Ciapponi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponte Ronca. Ponte Ronca's Beppe Napoleone got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Davide Guidone kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elia Ciapponi. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. Franco Melis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Quercia's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. A collision led to Ponte Ronca getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Felice Falcioni hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Alfredo Andreola shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franco Melis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Claudio Pili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ponte Ronca getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Felice Falcioni hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Davide Guidone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beppe Napoleone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ammonite's zone, Beppe Napoleone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elia Ciapponi came out of the goal and Beppe Napoleone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Davide Guidone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Davide Guidone to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ponte Ronca's zone, Claudio Pili stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Melis came out of the goal and Claudio Pili tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franco Melis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Pili in the 56th minute. Alfredo Quercia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Melis having to interfere. Beppe Napoleone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Elia Ciapponi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Davide Guidone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davide Guidone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia Ciapponi having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Ammonite got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Andreola. In the 86th minute, Augusto Muto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Quercia struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Franco Melis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ammonite. After some careless play in the Ponte Ronca defense, Claudio Pili kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franco Melis. The Ponte Ronca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franco Melis should have stopped the shot. 95 minutes into the game, Ponte Ronca's Beppe Napoleone nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elia Ciapponi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ponte Ronca had won after a very even match.
