Gorla Maggiore's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canizzano the free kick. Eraldo Colombi kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Canizzano's Cristoforo Bonsignore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Facchini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fortunato Oriali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fortunato Oriali in the 83rd minute of play forced Canizzano's goalkeeper Ettore Domenici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
